Free Insurance Quotes: Why Some Companies Won’t Offer Free Insurance Quotes

You can get free insurance quotes for all types of insurance. Auto insurance is the most common. Other kinds of insurance include health insurance, home insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, long term care insurance, and so on. Auto insurance is the most prevalent type of insurance because it is require by law of anyone who operates a motor vehicle. It is also the easiest type of insurance to generate instant (or nearly instant) price quotes for, probably on par with home insurance–except home insurance is not as common because not everyone owns a house. Most all renters have vehicles that need to be insured too. This is why car insurance is the most sought after kind for free insurance quotes.

It is also possible to get price quotes for free regarding health and life insurance, but you’re not likely to get it instantly or purely on the internet. This is because there is usually some kind of health tests that must be run before the insurance company will issue a firm price quote. This is especially true for life insurance. I know, because I used to sell life and health insurance as a personal financial advisor.

But at least you can get initial quotes from different insurance companies for a specific set of health levels. It has become even more difficult to tell which company would be the best to buy from, from the standpoint of stability and financial strength. As we have all seen, even the biggest, most highly “rated” insurance companies can come tumbling down. I worked as an agent for a regional life insurance company that would have us agents make a big deal about how they even made good on policies back during the great depression, as evidence that they were a strong, trustworthy and reliable company. Well just a couple months ago, I read a news article that said they were not accepting any more new policies and were going to close up after 30 years or so when all policies had been paid out, due to the financial problems in the current economy.

So, while insurance seems like a necessary evil, the good news is that you can at least compare companies and obtain free insurance quotes.
